Introduction:

Filter press can be divided into plate and frame type and chamber type.

It is an intermittent filtration equipment,used for solid-liquid separation of various suspensions.

Filter plates are compressed by pressing device,suspension is pumped into the filter chamber.

Solid and liquid are separated through filter cloth.Liquid flows out while solid remains in the chamber and then gets discharged thus completes one cycle. Structure:

This automatic discharging filter press adopts recessed chamber with center feeding.

It consists of beam, filter plate, filter cloths, hydraulic unit and electric control cabinet.

1. Beam, High quality carbon steel Q345B and processed with sand blasting to remove rust and oxide skin, then painted by epoxy primer to get higher intensity and corrosion resistance.

2. Filter plate, Polypropylene(PP) with acid & alkali resistance, anticorrosion and high strength.

3. Filter cloths, High quality polypropylene or polyester.

4. Hydraulic unit, Chinese famous brand pumps and hydraulic valve; Carbon steel bending, welding, sealing, air filtration external oil pump, great cooling effect, easy for maintenance.High and low pressure oil pipe for gb soft connection.

Working principle:

1. The liquid solid mixture is pumped into the filter press, which is made up of a number of recessed filter plates forming chambers. The plates are supported in a fabricated steel frame and is held closed by a force exerted from a hydraulic ram mounted in the frame work at the end of the machine.

2. Each filter plate is covered by a filter cloth that retains the solid particles, but allowing the liquid to pass through and exit through the ports in the filter plate.

3. The particles retained gradually build up on the surface of the filter media and after a period of time eventually form a solid cake.

4. As the cake forms the pressure within the filter press the pressure rises as the filtrate has to pass through the already partially formed cake to exit the chamber. It becomes increasingly more difficult to continue pumping as the press is unable to accept more solids. At this point the feed pump is stroking infrequently and the filtrate flow from the filter press has considerably reduced or completely stopped.

5. At this point or at a predetermined filtration time or pressure being achieved the cycle is terminated and the fully formed filter cake is discharged.
